Speaking
Success for Athletes
Because
of your athletic success, you are invited to speak. Microphone in
hand, you look out at three hundred expectant faces. Now what? Is
it enough tell a few stories about your pursuit of victory?
No, it's really not. Not if you'd like to be invited back next year,
or referred to another organization. Not if you'd like to make more
money, or feel more comfortable, or receive more applause. And not
if you're seeking long-term success in the speaking business.
Anyone can speak, right? Yes, and anyone can play sports. But successful
speakers, like successful athletes, need to practice. They also
need to be coached.
